Flower Essence Therapy
Helpful Hints
Helpful
Hints for Humans
Menopausal symptoms
Ladies, if you suffer from hot flashes or night sweats, there are essences that
can help. I put together a custom formula for myself and the hot flashes have
decreased dramatically (80-90%). There are several combinations that can be used
but Fuchsia and Rosemary are significant for heat regulation. Lavender,
Chamomile (both for calming) or Scleranthus (balance) could be used to combat
the emotional roller coasters we have during this "changing" and challenging
time.
Depression
If you suffer from depression, there are several Flower
Essences that can help. Gorse, Mustard, California Wild Rose and Hornbeam are
just a few. Which essences would be used would depend upon the underlying cause,
so a consultation would help pinpoint the certain emotional issues to be
addressed.
Helpful Hints
for Animals
Flower essences can address a variety of problems, such as fear
of thunder (Mimulus), panic or fear of going to see a veterinarian (Red Clover),
or severe stress or trauma (Five Flower Formula or Rescue Remedy).
Thunderstorm
Fears
If your four-legged friend is frightened by thunder, Mimulus is a
terrific essence to calm him/her. This essence addresses specific fears,
i.e., loud noises (thunder, fireworks), certain people, animals, or objects. Four drops directly into the mouth every 5 to 15 minutes until fear abates
during a thunderstorm, and even as it approaches to calm the animal before they
become overly agitated. If you dog really freaks out, try Cherry
Plum with Mimulus. Cherry Plum combats extreme fear and uncontrollable
behavior (jumping through the screen door). Remember, start the drops as
soon as a storm looks imminent. An ounce of prevention... Don't forget to
take it yourself.
Vet
Visit Trauma
If you have an animal companion that freaks out when they have to
go to the vet, there are several essences that can help get you both through the
experience in one unfrazzled piece. Red Clover is for panic. Five
Flower Formula (Rescue Remedy) will help with panic, stress and trauma,
especially if the animal is hurt. Chamomile and Lavender are both calming
essences. Mimulus is for specific fears (the dreaded vet!). Star of
Bethlehem (one of the essences in the Five Flower Formula) is for emotional,
mental and physical stress or shock. Rock Rose is for an hysterical
animal, to give it courage and calmness. Any of the above, singly or in
combination, will help your animals stay calm during this traumatic time.
And don't forget to take the essence yourself.
